Auckland Foundation has announced the Women’s Fund, a fund to unlock the potential of women across generations.
Grants are available to support organizations and initiatives in Tamaki Makaurau that amplify the voices of women, invest in women, and accelerate growth and development opportunities.
Priorities
Priority will be given to initiatives that reflect the Women’s Fund’s values:
- Inclusivity – celebrating diversity
- Equity – women being treated fairly and equally
- Identity – women realising their individual place in the world
- Generosity – generosity of spirit
- Reciprocity – the circle of giving and receiving
- Safety – women knowing they are safe to participate and have a voice
Funding Information
Grant requests of up to $5,000 will be considered.
Grant Criteria
Initiatives should be focused on positively impacting the lives of women and girls. These positive outcomes can be delivered by:
Amplifying the voices of women
- Promoting female leadership
- Providing a voice for women
- Promoting gender equity
- Keeping women safe
Investing in the potential of women
- Education and training
- Encouraging women’s participation
- Building strength and resilience
- Ensuring health and wellbeing
Accelerating women’s growth and development
- Helping to alleviate poverty
- Removing barriers to participation
- Teaching new skills
- Mentoring opportunities
- Helping to reduce isolation
Who can apply?
The Women’s Fund grants to the following not-for-profit organisations where charitable purposes can be clearly demonstrated (e.g. through a deed or governing rules):
- Registered charities
- Incorporated societies
- Community groups or collaborative groups
- Social enterprises
Your organisation or initiative must also be Auckland-based, i.e. for the Auckland women and girls’ community.
Eligible Expenditure
- Administration and operational expenses; e.g. wages or salaries for positions that are directly applicable to programme delivery, etc
- Volunteer expenses
- Project expenses.
