The Office for Multicultural Affairs is pleased to announce the 2020-21 Participation (Multicultural) Grants Program, with the primary aim of celebrating cultural diversity and enhancing social cohesion in the ACT.
This Grants Program promotes community participation and cohesion, cultural diversity and social inclusion in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).
Priority Areas
Priority will be given to applications that align with the objectives of the ACT Multicultural Framework 2015-2020 including programs, activities or events that contribute to one or more of the following:
- strengthen and promote community inclusion and social connection through collaborative projects, events and programs that involve the wider Canberra ACT community;
- promote and share the value of Canberra’s cultural diversity;
- celebrate and mark significant cultural days, celebrations and observances;
- enable and facilitate access to services, programs and information in culturally appropriate ways.
Funding Information
- A total of $180,000 (GST exclusive) is available in the 2020-21 funding round for programs, activities and events to be held in 2021.
- To support Canberra’s growing multicultural community, up to $2,000 per organisation will be provided to support communities celebrate significant cultural days, celebrations and observances.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only organisations which meet the following organisational eligibility requirements may apply:
- be incorporated or auspiced by an incorporated organisation;
- be a registered not-for-profit or charitable organisation;
- have acquitted all prior grants including: evaluations, acquittal reports and audited financial statements and no overdue reporting obligations for any previous ACT Government grant.
- If applying as a multicultural community broadcaster:
- be voluntary or not-for-profit organisation;
- be based in and broadcast primarily in the ACT;
- broadcast in a language that is representative of a multicultural community;
- produce a regular program on an ACT community radio station providing information and items of interest to specific multicultural community groups.
- If applying as a community radio station:
- hold either a:
- current Community Radio Broadcasting licence;
- temporary Community Radio Broadcasting licence;
- special events licence;
- be based in and broadcast primarily in the ACT;
- provide significant support to programs produced by multicultural community broadcasters.
