The Tasmanian Government is pleased to launch the Cultural Heritage Organisations program.
This program supports museums, galleries and collections to deliver a range of high quality cultural heritage activities that strengthen Tasmania’s robust, diverse and vibrant cultural heritage sector, engage and inspire audiences and the wider community, and preserve Tasmania’s movable cultural heritage.
What can I apply for?
- Activities may include:
- permanent, temporary or touring exhibitions,
- marketing,
- education,
- public programs.
- Organisations can also apply for support to improve professional management of collections. Including:
- improving access to collections,
- the development of museums’ management policies,
- the care of collections,
- product development.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for support, organisations must:
- be a Tasmanian museum, gallery or collection
- Manage a publicly owned, publicly accessible, permanent collections of movable cultural heritage objects or artworks; and,
- have (or are working towards) regular opening hours.
- Privately owned collections, federal government collections, Tasmanian Government Business Enterprises and Tasmanian Government Departments are not eligible to apply.
- Arts Tasmania accepts applications from individuals, groups and organisations.
- Individuals and groups
- If you are applying as an individual, you must be a practicing artist or arts worker who has been resident in Tasmania for six of the past twelve months.
- Groups must have at least one Tasmanian member.
- Students are eligible to apply for grants. However, any activity that is part of a course or contributes to course assessment is not eligible for funding.
- If you have received a grant from Arts Tasmania in the past and that grant has not been acquitted, you will not be eligible to apply to Arts Tasmania until your acquittal is accepted.
- Organisations
- Organisations must be registered under law (an incorporated association, or a company limited by guarantee) or created by law (a government statutory authority).
- Organisations that are not based in Tasmania may apply to certain programs for activities that benefit Tasmanian artists or audiences.
- Organisations in receipt of multi-year operational support from Arts Tasmania are not eligible to apply to other Arts Tasmania programs for the term of the agreement.
- Tasmanian or Federal Government departments and government business enterprises are not eligible to apply to Arts Tasmania.
