The Brimbank City Council has announced the applications for its Mental Health and Wellbeing Grants to support projects or activities that improve community mental health and wellbeing, build community capacity to support mental wellbeing and strengthen community connections.
For example, programs and activities that reduce loneliness and social isolation, promote good mental health and wellbeing in the community, raise awareness of mental health and reduce stigma such as mental health first aid training, forums or information sessions, and encourage people who are experiencing or at risk of mental health to seek help.
Funding Information
- Mental Health and Wellbeing Grants can provide funding up to $10,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a not-for-profit incorporated organisation.
- Have Public Liability Insurance cover for the duration of the project, unless applying for an Establishment Grant.
- Have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
- Be based in Brimbank, or demonstrate that the proposed project will substantially benefit Brimbank residents.
- Have satisfactorily acquitted previous grants funded under the Brimbank Council’s Community Grants Program, where applicable.
Assessment Criteria

Applications for these grants are scored on how well they outline and explain the following:

Community Need = 30%
- Does the activity, project or event align with the Community Grant objectives?
- Does this activity, project or event align with community’s needs?'

Community Benefit = 30%
- What would the community gain from the activity, project or event?
- Who is most likely to benefit from the project?

Capacity to Deliver Project = 30%
- Is your organisation able to successfully plan, manage and deliver the project, activity or event?
- Who else is involved? Partners, volunteers, staff?
- Do you have support from the community for this project, activity or event?

Access & Inclusion = 5%
- Is the project accessible for and inclusive of people of all abilities, ages, genders and backgrounds?

Innovation & Sustainability = 5%
- Is this activity, project or event a new concept or idea?
- Is there a possibility to repeat the project elsewhere?
