Deadline: 23-Aug-2024
The 2024 Women & Change grant round will provide a grant to a registered Queensland charity that supports those people in their community who are most disadvantaged.
The members are interested in projects that deliver sustainable change and are particularly interested in supporting new initiatives. This grant is not intended to replace current funding sources for existing projects or to provide general revenue for business as usual activities.
Vision of Women & Change
- To provide a supportive and empowering approach for women to experience philanthropy, whether it is for the first time, or in addition to their personal giving history.
Core Values
- Increase the capacity of women interested in philanthropy through peer support and collective giving.
- Encourage wide donor participation and inspire philanthropy.
- Support Queensland based organisations capable of delivering social change.
- Facilitate high impact grant-making.
Preference
- Preference will be given to applicants whose projects will produce positive social outcomes for Queenslanders living in disadvantage; are well defined, and identify a specific community need. Applicants must provide concrete information about their organisation’s strategies, budget, project outcomes and details of how they will evaluate the project’s implementation and outcomes.
Funding Information
- Each year Women and Change offers a grant of up to $50,000 to eligible charitable organisations with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. The project must be focussed on Queensland communities.
Duration
- Funds should be applied to a project that is completed within 12 months of receiving the grant monies.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications are open to charitable organisations that:
- have both Deductible Gift Recipient 1 (DGR1) and Tax Concessional Charity status (TCC), from the Australian Taxation Office.
- propose projects that are Queensland based, with all grant funds going to help Queenslanders experiencing social disadvantage and in need of support.
- are based anywhere in Australia (with all funds to be spent in Queensland).
- The project must be completed 12 months from when you receive the funding (December 2024).
- The successful applicant must provide progress reports at six months and a final report at 12 months. Outcomes must be shared with the members of Women & Change, who have made this grant possible.
- Applicants can apply for part funding of a larger project, so long as they have the balance of funds confirmed and the project is ready to start as soon as the grant is received.
- Women & Change will consider applications for any demonstrable need, including operational, infrastructure or capacity-building support, where it is clear that philanthropic funding will make a tangible and measurable difference to the quality of life of the individuals and communities involved.
- Eligible organisations are welcome to submit up to three applications for different projects. Please ensure that each project meets the guidelines. A separate application form must be submitted for each project.
- Members are most interested in projects that address unmet needs and/or offer unique solutions to social challenges.
Ineligible
- Grants will not be awarded to or for: individuals; political parties; government entities; commercial sponsorships; religious groups (except for projects that support a non-religious purpose); retrospective requests; debt retirement, budget deficits, endowments or bequest programs; or general fundraising appeals.
