Deadline: 6-Dec-21
The ACT Government is offering grants under Women’s Sport and Recreation Participation and Leadership Program (WSRPLP) to provide financial assistance to eligible individuals, clubs and organisations within the ACT to support participation, education and training activities that enhance the availability of participation opportunities for women and girls in the ACT and the abilities for females to take on leadership roles in the sector.
Funding Information
All organisations must be aware of the following funding parameters:
- organisations can apply for a minimum of $1,000 and a maximum of $10,000 in funding to any single application under the WSRPLP;
- the WSRPLP will not support any capital project or any activity deemed to be “sponsorship”;
- no matching funding is required for financial assistance received under the WSRPLP;
- no more than 50% of any application can be related to travel to costs to attend interstate education and training opportunities – overseas travel costs are ineligible for support; and
- any partnership application must include evidence of partner support or commitment.
Outcomes
The intended outcomes of the WSRPLP are to:
- increase community awareness, access and participation in sport and physical recreation by women and girls, with a strong focus in the on-ground delivery of activity opportunities in communities or regions of greatest need;
- develop and implement new initiatives that meet the needs of physical activity specific to women and girls, understanding and noting that these needs may not be homogenous across all groups;
- foster partnerships that help to understand and reach new cohorts of potential female participants, including those at risk or with higher levels of sedentary behaviours;
- develop the skills of female volunteers, officials and administrators so that they can contribute further to ACT Sport and Recreation in a leadership capacity; and
- identify, develop and support female coaching talent at a community and elite level.
