The Australian Embassy is seeking applications for its Direct Assistance Program (DAP Program) which is a scheme of competitive funds that selects and supports projects for local development in Colombia and Ecuador.
The DAP Program aims to provide economic assistance for projects and local development activities of a productive nature aimed at overcoming poverty.
Thematic Areas
- Assistance to vulnerable rural communities or high levels of poverty
- Gender equality
- Qualification and assistance to minority groups, including:
- Women and child
- older adults
- People with disabilities
- Young people (eg social cohesion)
- Indigenous communities
- Communities with diverse identities of gender or sexual orientation / LGBTI
- Assistance in areas affected by natural disasters
- Assistance in post-conflict areas and issues
- Water resources, including access to drinking water and sanitation and management of non-renewable resources
- Productive infrastructure for small-scale agriculture
- Training in public consultation related to mining, the environment or other local issues
- Environmental sustainability
- Infrastructure for Preschool and Basic Education
- Contribution to the development of technical capacities for labor reintegration
- Community and reproductive health
Funding Information
The amount requested should be between US $ 7,000 and US $ 25,000 (US dollars) per project.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible organizations must be private, non-governmental, non-profit entities with legal personality and a corporate bank account. The Program operates through an annual nomination round.
- Organizations applying for DAP must meet the following requirements:
- Be properly constituted as non-governmental non-profit organizations.
- Have legal personality in Colombia or Ecuador, as appropriate.
- Have a corporate bank account in the name of the organization.
- Be committed to the development of the community in which they operate, and demonstrate initiative and capacity in the execution of activities and expense in an orderly and transparent manner.
