The Bell Bay Aluminium is currently accepting applications for the Community Grants Program to provide financial support to organisations, groups and initiatives that impact the Tasmanian community in key social, environmental and economic focus areas.
The Grants Program focuses investment across several key focus areas informed by socioeconomic data and community plans aligned to Bell Bay Aluminium’s values and objectives.
Funding Information
- Grants are available up to a maximum value of $3,000 each.
Focus Areas
The key focus areas are:
- Education: Including a focus on education, contribution to education and/or, improvement in education. Some examples include:
- Improved access to education,
- Supports and improves diverse forms of learning,
- Fosters inclusive education practices,
- Improves learning and education outcomes.
- Environment: Including a focus on environment and positive contribution to environmental causes. Some examples include:
- Improved environmental practices and outcomes,
- Supports the preservation of native flora and fauna,
- Significant focus on environmental sustainability,
- Supports the circular economy.
- Inclusion & Diversity: Including a focus on ensuring that diverse groups and individuals are included, supported and safe in their communities. Some examples include:
- Aims to reduce inequality,
- Focus on increasing community participation amongst diverse groups,
- Aims to increase gender diversity.
- Culture & Heritage: Including a focus on elevating and respecting culture and history. Some examples include:
- Supports the elevation, promotion, respect and education of the culture and history of Indigenous populations,
- Supports the promotion, preservation and education of culturally and historically significant artefacts, architecture, events, locations.
- Health & Wellbeing: Including a focus on the health and wellbeing of persons in the community. Some examples include:
- Improved health and wellbeing of community members,
- Focus on improved community health outcomes,
- Focus on mental health initiatives and mental health awareness in the community.
- Economic: Focus on improvement to economic outcomes for the community, diversification of the economy in local communities, supports the economic wellbeing of vulnerable or at-risk groups. Some examples include:
- Focus on improving economic indicators in the community,
- Skills development for the community’s future needs,
- Focus on improving employability, building capacity.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant organisation and the project must be based in Tasmania. Organisations applying for community grants will need to meet the following criteria to be eligible for funding.

Consideration will be given to:
- Not for profits;
- Charities;
- Sporting Clubs;
- Community service organisations;
- Cultural groups.
- Funding will not be provided to:
- Individuals;
- Commercial or private business;
- Pursuits that financially benefit an individual or group of individuals;
- Political groups or projects that benefit a political party;
- Fundraising campaigns or appeals;
- Ongoing labour costs rather than for a defined project.
