The Enterprise Nation is offering grants through its Black Business Fund.
Black-owned restaurants with fewer than five locations can apply to the fund for a grant. Twenty five restaurants will each receive £10,000, as well as access to mentoring from Enterprise Nation to give their businesses a valuable boost.
Black-owned businesses face particular challenges. For example, NatWest has highlighted the significant barriers Black-owned businesses face in accessing finance. Be Inclusive Hospitality has found that Black workers are most likely to highlight ethnicity as a factor in hindering their career progression.
Funding Information
The fund will distribute £250,000 to Black-owned restaurants that need additional financial support. Twenty five restaurants will each receive £10,000, as well as access to mentoring from Enterprise Nation, to help boost their businesses.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the competition, a food business:
- must be Black-owned
- must have been trading for at least 18 months
- should have less than five locations
