Hartford Foundation is pleased to announce a Black Giving Circle Grant Program to support innovative and transformative strategies that build upon the Black community’s strengths and assets to address these needs.
The Black Giving Circle Fund is seeking proposals for projects that benefit the Black community. Recognizing the ongoing need to address persistent disparities affecting the Black community.
Areas
Eligible funding requests must focus on one or more of these areas:
- Establishing a new or innovative program/service
- expanding access to an existing program/service
- enhancing current practices
- purchasing equipment and/or renovation improvements
- building agency infrastructure that advance the Black community
Funding Information
Grants are available up to $30,000 for one year.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Fund will consider proposals from individual organizations or collaborative proposals by multiple organizations that have a successful record of serving the Black community in the Greater Hartford region. All applicants must be federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, or use a fiscal agent that is a 501(c)(3). The applicant/co-applicants must demonstrate a track record of serving a majority of Blacks and detail how the proposed project builds upon that success.
- Eligibility is restricted to organizations with a demonstrated record of service to the Black community and the funding requested should be for programs/projects that clearly and intentionally serve a majority of Black participants. Requests for funding can be for any program/project enhancement or strengthening, equipment/capital project, or capacity building need.
