The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is accepting proposals for grants for the purpose of media affirmation of women’s leadership during the COVID19 pandemic to support the affirmation of women’s leadership through stories from the local community that focus on the social engagement of women as bearers of positive change, especially in times of crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
- promoting activism, social engagement and women’s advocacy during the COVID pandemic,
- recognizing and affirming women leaders at a time when the primary challenge is mitigating the effects of the crisis ,
- designing media initiatives that will serve as an inspiration for the popularization of the concept of women’s leadership and help in the affirmation of women’s leadership, especially during the COVID pandemic ,
- opening a media space for a debate on the need to change social norms regarding traditional gender roles , and opening a dialogue on the necessary systemic and structural changes (eg in the social protection system, public services, inclusive employment measures, etc.) that will have emancipatory potential. women in BiH.
- Women’s local initiatives in the field of economic development;
- Engaging and empowering women in the local community: initiatives that strengthen the capacity and empower women, offer solutions for women’s equality and economic empowerment of women, etc .;
- Innovative projects that reduce the pressure caused by the complete or partial unavailability of public services;
- Social initiatives that enable greater access to services for children, adolescents, the elderly, people with disabilities in areas, preschool education, online education, care and care for the elderly, etc .;
- Effective participation of activists in decision-making processes and affirmation of women’s leadership and initiatives through the use of information and communication technology (ICT) opportunities;
- Initiatives that affirm the engagement and capacities of local organizations, in order to better represent and represent the interest and engagement of citizens, especially in times of pandemic.
- Carrying out the process of hiring journalists / associates with credible experience, preferably in the field of gender equality or women’s leadership
- Research process, ie collecting information from the field about interesting stories that prove the importance of the role of women in society as a leader of positive change
- Proving the relevance of media content in relation to the objectives of the Public Call
- Creation / production or co-production of media content on a selected topic (author’s texts, videos or audio recordings, etc.),
- Publishing media content in print and electronic media, and social networks.
- Acceptable legal status of the applicant:
- Participation in this public call is open, on an equal basis, to all associations / associations / foundations engaged in media activities that are formally registered in accordance with the applicable legal regulations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Applicants within this public call are associations / associations / foundations engaged in media activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina that meet the following conditions of the call:
- have the possibility of production or co-production of media content in the area primarily, but not exclusively, in 10 units of local self-government. Preference will be given to content that covers partner units of local self-government: Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Gracanica, Laktasi, Ljubuski, Nevesinje, Olovo, Sarajevo-Stari Grad, Tesanj, Zenica;
- have previous experience in the implementation of media projects, especially in the field of gender equality and women’s leadership (evidence in the form of media reports, official reports, copies of contracts and official certificates are acceptable);
- have positive business in 2019 and 2020.
