The British Embassy in Brazil is seeking project proposals for its British Embassy Programme Fund.
Proposals can deliver one or more activities such as research, analysis, seminars, events, missions or workshops, as well as a small scale projects (up to £50,000). Both should lead to specific and measurable action.
Focus Areas
Project proposals must contribute to the following areas:
- People to People: Increasing cooperation through exchange of experts, policy makers, civil society and academia to support development of best practice in governance, business environment and democracy.
- Human Rights: Support capacity building of governments and civil society in promoting and protecting human rights, including but not limited to transnational human rights challenges (e.g. modern slavery and human trafficking), business and human rights practices, good governance, LGBT rights, best practices around policing and prison systems, support to human rights defenders and the promotion and protection of freedom of expression.
- Global Peace and Security: Supporting Brazil’s role in global peace and security issues by promoting debate and sharing of expertise, particularly on the Middle East, peacekeeping and disarmament.
Eligibility Criteria
The Bilateral Fund is ODA (Official Development Assistance), hence, the primary beneficiary of the project proposal submitted to the Bilateral Fund must be Brazil (included in the OECD DAC list), in line with DAC criteria.
