The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) is seeking applications from eligible organisations to fund a program entitled “Combating Wildlife Trafficking in Tanzania” with an aim to provide training and other technical assistance in Tanzania to build institutional capacity for combating wildlife crime.
INL leverages its unique foreign assistance authorities to contribute to the global fight against wildlife trafficking and will support work that builds investigative and enforcement capacity.
Funding Information: Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between $2,000,000 and $250,000.
Eligibility
- Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
- Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Private institutions of higher education
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education.
- Applications may also outline activities that enhance Tanzania’s legislative frameworks and/or prosecutorial and judicial capacity to combat wildlife poaching and trafficking.
- Activities may include training, mentoring, and possibly the provision of non-lethal equipment for park rangers, police, prosecutors, other relevant officials and, where applicable, non-governmental and civil society entities to address the multi-faceted dimensions of poaching and wildlife trafficking.
