The Mumbulla Community Foundation in partnership with the Bega Valley Shire Council is offering grants to encourage local young women aged 18 – 25 to reach for their goals, whatever they may be. The grants aim to recognise and celebrate the valuable contribution that young women make in the community.
The grants aim to encourage young women in the Bega Valley to achieve their goals and to support their valuable contribution to the communities.
Objectives
Young Women’s Grants are offered to encourage women aged 18-25 to reach for their goals, whatever they may be. The grant aims to recognise and celebrate the valuable contribution that young women make in the community in the areas of:
- Arts and culture.
- Environment.
- Business.
- Community.
- Health, and
- Sport.
Funding Information
- Ten (10) grants are on offer for young women between 18 and 25 of up to $500 each.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible young women must:
- Be living in the Bega Valley Shire.
- Be aged between 18 to 25 years.
- Demonstrate ambition/motivation to achieve their goal.
- Actively contribute to the local community and/or advocate on behalf of a community/health/social justice or other issue at a local, regional, state or national level.
- Not be seeking funding for further education, please see Further Education Scholarships as an alternative.
- Grant funding has supported individuals to:
- Complete first aid, and mental first aid courses.
- Purchase art supplies to run health and wellbeing workshops.
- Rent equipment to perform at free youth events.
- Support young people who are homeless and link them with the resources and items they need.
- Create opportunities for youth to network in areas such as farming and arts.
- Host a community event to create a mural.
- Support mental health throughout parenthood via craft activities, events and workshops.
- Host therapeutic, creative art and movement workshops as an expressive outlet for emotional trauma.
- Create opportunities for entrepreneurs with disabilities.
- Attend short courses and workshops such as responding to client needs and communication at work.
- Support participation in an all-inclusive fashion show.
- Organise social meet ups, events and community projects to link like minded individuals
