The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Armenia calls to submit applications for the implementation of the projects of the Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Programme in Armenia in 2021.
Project Concepts
The Embassy calls for submission of applications for the implementation of the following project concepts:
- Protection of environment and fight against climate change
- Partner country (-ies): Armenia;
- Area(s) of cooperation: Environment protection and fight against climate change;
- Project aim: Provide support to Armenian non-governmental organizations and public institutions in implementing environmental initiatives;
- Project objectives:
- Implement waste management and recycling initiatives;
- Raise public awareness on the importance of recycling and the protection of the environment;
- Organize restoration of green areas and/or public clean up initiatives;
- Transfer Lithuania’s recycling experience.
- Target group(s): Armenian civil society and public institutions acting in the environmental sector;
- Estimated duration of project implementation: From April 2021 to October 2021;

- Experience in implementing similar projects;
- The financial contribution of the Applicant and/or other financial sources.
- Strengthening resilience to disinformation in Armenia
- Partner country (-ies): Armenia;
- Area(s) of cooperation: Support for democracy and civil society;
- Project aim: Strengthen media literacy, resilience to the disinformation of Armenian civil society and (or)strengthen strategic communication capacities of Armenian governmental institutions;
- Project objectives:
- Strengthen capacities of Armenian civil society, media and governmental institutions to recognize and resist disinformation, increase media literacy and fact-checking capabilities.
- Organize and implement information campaigns (in English, Russian or Armenian languages) with the purpose of deconstructing disinformation and presenting positive changes originating from the implementation of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) as well as on-going democratic reforms to the public;
- To organize and implement information campaigns (in English, Russian or Armenian languages) on scientifically based approach towards fight against COVID-19, deconstructing disinformation on vaccination;
- To share Lithuania’s experience in the mentioned fields.
- Target group(s): Armenian civil society, independent media, and public opinion makers in Armenia, governmental communicators.

- Economic and social development of Armenian rural areas
- Partner country (-ies): Armenia
- Area(s) of cooperation:
- Development of regional and rural areas
- Gender equality
- Project aim: Support to the economic and social development of Armenian regional and rural areas, focusing on women empowerment
- Project objectives:
- To increase the capacities of target groups to develop social business initiatives as well as to gain more incomes through training and obtaining necessary equipment, thus promoting recovery from negative effects of COVID-19.
- Support social business initiatives oriented to the empowerment of women, mostly focusing on those displaced from Nagorno Karabakh.
- To promote UN sustainable development goals in Armenian communities (with the emphasis on gender equality, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, etc.)
- Target group(s): Communities of Armenian rural areas
- Estimated duration of project implementation: From April 2021 to October 2021

Funding Information
- A total of 40 000 EUR will be allocated to these projects in 2021.
Grant Criteria
- Applicant must specify at least one partner in Armenia and add the partner’s consent to cooperate on project implementation. A partner in Armenia is not obligatory if an application for a project is being submitted by an entity registered in Armenia or by an international organization.
- Legal entities and natural persons, other organizations, and their subsidiaries of Republic of Lithuania and Armenia are invited to submit signed and scanned project applications and project estimates in Lithuanian or English, according to the established forms, together with the required and, if available, additional attachments by e-mail.
