Applications open for IDOP Albert-Eden Fund Programme which aims to support new and innovative activities that enhance the wellbeing, connection, and active participation of older adults in Albert-Eden.
Purpose
- It provides an opportunity to:
- Pilot or trial new initiatives that respond to the needs and interests of older people
- Explore new partnerships or collaborative approaches between groups, organisations, or community practitioners
- Encourage inclusive, culturally responsive, and intergenerational engagement
Funding Information
- They have small grants of between $100-$800 available for events, workshops or projects.
- Funding & Accountability:
- Funding can support event costs, facilitation, venue hire, materials, and promotion (excludes salaries and ongoing operational costs).
- Applicants must provide a simple budget breakdown and outline how the funding will be used.
- Successful applicants must submit a short post-event report, including basic participation data, an impact assessment, and financial accountability.
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to groups, non-profits, local organisations, and practitioners working to support older adults.
- Initiatives must be free of cost to encourage broad participation.
- The initiative must take place within the Albert-Eden local board and align with Age-Friendly Auckland Action Plan to support well-being, social connection, or active participation of older adults.
- Activities must be scheduled within the two-week period surrounding the International Day of Older Persons.
- Projects and initiatives must be inclusive, accessible, and culturally responsive to older adults from diverse backgrounds.
- Higher priority will be given to new and innovative initiatives that demonstrate collaboration with one or more local partners.
- Intergenerational events must feature older people prominently.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Funding cannot be used for wages, administrative expenses, or ongoing organisational costs
- Initiatives not community-focused
- Projects occurring outside the two-week period
- Funded initiatives not open to all older adults, or limited to by a membership
- The grant cannot reimburse expenses for projects that have already taken place
