The Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development (EJS Center) is seeking proposals from Liberian grassroots organizations who are experts in the fields of Financial Inclusion, Youth Education and Skills Training.
Eligible organizations must be registered in Liberia and women-led and/or women focused. Interested organizations must have a proven capacity to develop and implement targeted interventions at the community/grassroots level in Liberia.
The Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development (EJS Center) was founded in 2018 to be a catalyst for political and social change across Africa by helping unleash its most abundant latent power — its women. Since 2022, the Center has awarded grants varying from $20,000-40,000 United States Dollars to eight local organizations who have used the funds to build wells, provide computer and other skills training and start a village saving and loan.
Eligibility Criteria
- All applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Have demonstrated experience working in the fields of Financial Inclusion, Youth Education and Skills Training.
- Have been in operation for three years and more.
- Have trained staff able to implement the proposal and deliver effective monitoring and evaluation systems.
- Must be a registered non-governmental organization.
- Must have current sector clearance and be accredited by Liberia Revenue Authority.
- Have previously received donor funds.
- Be familiar with preparing donor reports.
- Required documents for submission include:
- A well-written project proposal and budget outlining the organization’s mission and purpose and how this grant will be utilized. This must include clear Key Performance Indicators and an expected impact summary and a maximum one year timeline – 4 pages maximum.
- One paragraph bios for key members involved in the proposed project.
- Copy of current NGO registration/sector clearance/ tax accreditation.
- Proof of recent donor support (letter of reference, statement of award, program from fundraising event etc. within the last 2 years).
- Most recent financial report (2023 audit, 2024 bank statements, end of year report etc.)
- Please note that your submission packet cannot exceed ten pages.
