Are you worried about polluted air, too much waste, insufficient care for rivers, and the way decision-makers treat nature and climate change? Do you have a clear idea of how these problems can be solved? Citizens are an important collaborator in this business? In that case – this is the call for you!
Through the Civil Society Support Program for Environmental Protection and Sustainable Community Development – Strong Green, they will work together to develop and implement green project ideas that will improve the quality of life in your community. In times of global crisis, the perspectives of local communities are especially important, and we will work with you to strengthen them.
Objectives
- The overall goal of the Strong Green support program is to enable public participation in the implementation of legal acquis communautaire in the field of environmental protection and climate change, which the Republic of Serbia is adopting in the EU accession process.
- The specific objectives of the Program are:
- to support civil society organizations in Serbia to engage in their communities locally important topics in the field of environmental protection and climate change;
- to enable civil society organizations in Serbia to monitor and participate in the implementation of Chapter 27 regulations at the local level;
- to increase the transparency and availability of environmental quality information locally.
Thematic Areas
The thematic areas within which you can apply are:
- Waste management (we especially encourage ideas dealing with the circular economy);
- Air protection;
- Nature protection;
- Water protection and management;
- Climate change;
- Horizontal legislation.
Funding Information
- The total indicative amount for financial support in the second year of the Program is 30,600,000.00 RSD.
- Organizations can apply for financial support in the amount of 1,500,000.00 RSD up to 1,700,000.00 RSD.
What does support for civil society organizations in the strong green program look like?
Program participants will be provided with:
- Financial support for the implementation of their projects;
- Capacity building program for development, management, and financial management of projects, as well as a program for the development of specific knowledge and skills related to Chapter 27 (environmental protection and climate change);
- Expert and mentoring support during project implementation;
- Participation in the activities of Coalition 27, through monitoring public policies at the local level and writing contributions to the annual Reports from the shadow of Coalition 27.
Eligibility Criteria
Support under this Program is intended for civil society organizations that are:
- Registered as associations, foundations, or endowments, in accordance with the applicable Law on Associations or the Law on Endowments and Foundations;
- They have an annual turnover of less than EUR 50,000.00;
- They are currently not a beneficiary of financial support from European Union programs, nor a beneficiary of financial support under other programs financed from European Union funds.
