The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is pleased to annoucne a call for Projects/Proposals from Non-Governmental Organizations for “Strengthening the Governance of Border Areas to Consolidate Social Cohesion and Prevent Conflict”.
Objectives
This call for proposals aims to select one (01) structure experienced in carrying out activities to strengthen the resilience of communities, local mechanisms for the prevention and management of conflicts in the target areas of the project.
Specifically, it will be:
- Organize 7 (seven) socio-security dialogues due to at least 60 participants per locality in the areas of: Ferkessédougou, Kong, Ouangolo, Diawala, Bouna, Doropo and Tehini in order to build trust between the civilian populations and the FDS;
- Support the initiatives of Civil-Military Cells in the areas of: Ferkessédougou, Kong, Ouangolo, Diawala, Bouna, Doropo and Tehini;
- Organize 7 (seven) cross-border civil-military activities in the areas of: Ferkessédougou, Kong, Ouangolo, Diawala, Bouna, Doropo and Tehini;
- Set up 7 (seven) cross-border peace committees in the areas of: Ferkessédougou, Kong, Ouangolo, Diawala, Bouna, Doropo and Tehini;
- Strengthen the technical and material capacities of peace committees in the areas of: Ferkessédougou, Kong, Ouangolo, Diawala, Bouna, Doropo and Tehini;
- Organize at least 7 (seven) inter-community dialogues due to at least 100 participants per locality in the areas of: Ferkessédougou, Kong, Ouangolo, Diawala, Bouna, Doropo and Tehini with the aim of strengthening the peaceful coexistence of communities;
- Fund at least 2 (two) quick impact projects resulting from the dialogues in the Thologo and Boukani regions;
- Carry out at least 7 (seven) sports and cultural exchange activities involving mirror communities of Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina; in the areas of: Ferkessedougou, Kong, Ouangolo, Diawala, Bouna, Doropo and Tehini ;
- Train at least 70 (seventy) young members of peace committees (men and women) in the prevention and management of cross-border community conflicts.
Funding Information
- Bid amounts must represent a minimum of US$90,000. for direct interventions in the communities of the seven geographical localities, and a maximum of US$115,000.
- The amount requested in the offer must correspond to the administrative and financial management capacities of the organisation. In principle, the project does not last more than [ six ] months/years.
Eligibility Criteria
- The parameters that will determine whether a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) is eligible by UNDP will be based on the NGO Information Request Template.
- NGOs that have already submitted the information requested in the information request should not submit it again.
Criteria
Tenders will be evaluated on the basis of the following criteria:
- The rational technical offer which includes innovative and replicable inclusion mechanisms to optimize the transfer of funds to beneficiaries.
- High impact interventions targeting and responding directly to the needs established in the terms of reference.
- The amount of budget required to match proven financial and administrative management capabilities.
- Participatory monitoring and evaluation which will contribute to creating the feeling of being a stakeholder among the beneficiaries, in order to promote the sustainability of the interventions.
