Enabel has announced a call for proposals for awareness in schools on Gender based Violence and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights and protection.
Objectives and Expected Results
- The general objective of this Call for Proposals is: Vulnerable boys and girls, young women and men are protected against violence, they access quality psycho-social, mental health, Gender based Violence (GBV) and legal counselling and support services, they are well-informed and enabled to participate in decision-making, and they actively engage in their community.
- The specific objective of this Call for Proposals is to induce demand, improve access to quality age- and gender-tailored Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and GBV information in schools, especially through the systematisation or scaling up of adequate educational tools and leverage policy framework that promote and sustain participation of the Palestinian community including youth and adolescents in SRH protection activities in Palestine.
- The achievements will be measured by at least these two indicators:
- Number of educational tools used in school that provide age and gender tailored SRH information to students (Minimal target: 3 educational tools which may include existing tools).
- Percentage of increase of students’ knowledge in understanding the relevance and knowing where to access SRH and protection services and information. (Minimal target: 20% increase).
- Expected results are:
- Improved engagement of youth, their parents, teachers, and counsellors’ attitudes in favour of open dialogue on issues of SRH, comprehensive sexuality education (CSE), and gender equality.
- Increased awareness on and take-up of adolescent/youth SRH policies and services within the health and education systems.
Sectors or Themes
- The proposal will provide activities for:
- Development and utilization of education SRH and protection tools and advocacy for adolescent and youth SRH policies and services in the education systems.
- Enhancement of educational environment (schools) to adapt an open dialogue on issues of SRH, including comprehensive sexuality education, and gender equality.
Funding Information
- The total indicative amount available under this Call for Proposals is 250,000 EUR (two hundred and fifty thousand Euros). The contracting authority reserves the right not to award all of the available funds.
- Any grant application under this Call for Proposals must utilise the full amount of 250,000 EUR.
Duration
- The initial planned duration of an action may not be less than 24 months nor exceed 26 months.
Target Groups
- SRH and protection service providers and program managers focusing on the education system.
- Teachers and counsellors in targeted schools
- Adolescents and youth in targeted schools.
- Parents (women, men) and different influential parties from the community and social networks including media personnel and influencers.
Geographical Coverage
- The actions must be implemented in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in Palestine.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant (s)
- To be admissible for grants, the applicant must satisfy the following conditions:
- be a legal person; and
- be a non-profit private entity or a foundation; or
- a non-governmental organization and/or international organisation specialised in health or/and protection services.
- be established or represented in: Palestine; and
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and not be acting as an intermediary and;
- be operational on nationwide scale and represented in the West Bank including East Jerusalem of this Call for Proposals; and
- have an active bank account for the past 24 months; and
- have audited financial statements (income statement and balance sheet) of the last closed financial year.
- To be admissible for grants, the applicant must satisfy the following conditions:
- Co-applicant(s)
- The co-applicant(s) shall participate in the definition and the implementation of the action, and the costs that they incur shall be eligible in the same way as those incurred by the applicant. Co-applicants must meet the following conditions:
- be a legal person; and
- be a non-profit private entity or a foundation; and
- be established in the West Bank or East Jerusalem; and
- be operational in all or part of the West Bank including East Jerusalem; and
- have an active bank account for the past 24 months; and
- have audited financial statements (income statement and balance sheet) of the last closed financial year.
- The co-applicant(s) must sign the declaration form.
- The co-applicant(s) shall participate in the definition and the implementation of the action, and the costs that they incur shall be eligible in the same way as those incurred by the applicant. Co-applicants must meet the following conditions:
