The Direct Aid Program (DAP) is a small grant program funded from Australia’s aid budget and administered by the Australian Embassy in Ankara. They are flexible funds that work with local communities to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development and are in the national interest of Australia.
DAP Turkey aims to advance Australia’s interests in Turkey through the financing of small-scale development and humanitarian projects. DAP projects support the achievement of relevant objectives for target groups in priority development sectors while promoting a positive image of Australia and connecting with local communities in Turkey.
DAP projects cover a range of sectors such as education, health, water and sanitation, environmental protection, women’s empowerment and gender equality, supporting people with disabilities, economic livelihoods, food security and human rights.
DAP projects engage a wide range of partners including community groups, non-government organisations, educational institutions and local governments. Through helping people in need we can show Australia is a supportive and trusted partner in addressing aid challenges in partner countries.
