The Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic, Programme Operator of the Human Rights Programme, in cooperation with the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic announces Open Call for proposals (SGSA – Support of research, raising awareness and improving national implementation of human rights standards) for Small Grant Scheme projects funded by the Norway Grants 2014-2021.
The objective of this Open Call is to improve the understanding of new human rights issues and challenges and to find practical solutions contributing to better implementation of human rights standards at the national level. The call aims to increase support for target groups, improve public understanding of human rights, and strengthen the capacity of research and educational institutions to address human rights issues and challenges.
The Call also supports cooperation between educational and academic institutions and other stakeholders (civil society, business, etc.), the engagement of students and young researchers in human rights activities and the promotion of new approaches and trends in understanding of human rights and their implementation in all areas of social life.
Aims
- The aim of this Open Call is to improve understanding of new human rights topics and challenges and to find practical solutions contributing to better implementation of human rights standards at the national level. The emphasis will be placed on gaining targeted, practically oriented expertee on pressing global threats and challenges and on solutions reducing social inequalities, prejudice, and discrimination. Adverse impacts of new developments on vulnerable and marginalized groups and minorities shall be explored.
- Particular emphasis will be placed on new approaches and methods in the field of human rights and interdisciplinary cooperation between various disciplines in order to better understand the complexities of human rights issues and developments.
- The call will also support mutual cooperation between the educational and academic institutions and other stakeholders (civil society, business, etc). The involvement of students and young researchers in human rights activities and promoting new approaches and new trends in education at all types of schools aimed at understanding human rights and their application in all areas of social life will be also supported.
Funding Information
- The financial allocation of the Call decisive for the selection of the projects to be funded is 1770588 EUR.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible applicants are:
- Non-governmental nonprofit organisations (hereinafter referred to as NG0s);
- Public research institutions pursuant to Act No. 341/2006 Coll., on public research institutions, as amended;
- Public or state higher education institutions pursuant to Act No.111/1998 Coll., on higher education institutions, as amended;
- Legal entities performing the activities of schools and school facilities pursuant to Act No. 561/2004 Coll., The Education Act, as amended except for the legal entities, whose subject of activity is entrepreneurship pursuant to special regulations (eg legal form limited liability company);
- Public institutions and entities established by law and subordinate entities established and financed by those subjects active and experienced in human rights protection and promotion.
- Eligible applicants in the group of Non-governmental nonprofit organisations established as legal persons in the Czech Republic are as follows:
- Association according to Art. No. 89/2012 Coll.. the Civil Code as amended: Subsidiary Association representing an organizational unit of an Association is not considered an eligible applicant;
- Institute according to Act No.89/2012 Coll.. the Civil Code, as amended (hereinafter referred to as institute);
- The special-purpose entity of a registered church and religious society established by the church and religious society for the provision of charitable services according to Act No. 3/2002 Coll on freedom of religion and status of churches and religious societies and amending certain laws as amended (hereinafter referred to as special-purpose church entity);
- Public benefit organization according to the Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code, as amended, that refers to the Act No. 248/1995 Coll.. on public benefit organizations and on amendments to certain acts. as amended (hereinafter referred to as public benefit organization);
- Foundation or endowment fund according to the Act No. 89/2012 Cot the Civil Code, as amended (hereinafter referred to as foundation or endowment fund).
