The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is inviting proposals from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) including NGOs and CBOs and Media Organizations for Application of Small Grants to Conduct Regular Radio Outreaches on the different forms of GBV in South Sudan, Protection of the Needs and Right.
Objectives and Expected Outputs/ Deliverables
- Applicants are requested to submit their proposals as potential grant implementers in Juba. The main objective of the grant is to identify one civil society organization (CSO) or National Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) or Community-Based Organization (CBO)or Media Organization with operational presence and capacities in Juba to do the following:
- Enhanced public knowledge of around 850,000 people on the different forms of GBV in South Sudan, treatment of juvenile offenders in court, protection of the needs and rights of GBV survivors and children in conflict with the law, and other key related topics by 80%.
- Strengthened legal empowerment of women and girls at risk of GBV, survivors of GBV, and communities in South Sudan to protect themselves from violence and combat GBV in all its forms.
- Increased advocacy for survivors of GBV and children’s access to justice and legal remedies through the available legal framework and GBV and Juvenile Courts.
Funding Information
- The budget should be detailed, complete, rational, and realistic, and must not exceed the equivalent of USD$25,000.00.
- Duration: The project duration is SIX (6) MONTHS.
Eligibility Criteria
- The CSO/NNGO/CBO must meet the following criteria to be eligible for selection:
- Be legally registered as CSO/NNGO/CBO with the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs/ the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission and in possession of a valid registration certificate.
- Be legally registered as a Media organization with the Media Authority of South Sudan and in possession of a valid license.
- The mandate and founding documents should be in line with the activities for which the fund is being sought.
- Have an established office in Juba and experienced in implementing similar/related activities.
Selection Process
- UNDP will review the proposals through a five-step process:
- determination of eligibility;
- technical review of eligible proposals;
- scoring and ranking of the eligible proposals based on the assessment criteria outlined in the previous section to identify highest ranking proposal;
- round of clarification (if necessary) with the highest scored proposal; and
- Grants Agreement (GA) signature.
