The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (IADC) has announced the applications for resilience and return in the governorate of Nineveh through an integrated approach in the education, health and livelihood sectors.
Areas of Intervention
The purpose of the initiative covered by this Notice is to support the return of displaced persons,
through a multisectoral approach based on three areas of intervention:
- Education and Health: There are more than a million children and young people of school age for whom interventions are needed of rehabilitation and strengthening of the sector. Immediate interventions are needed for most of them, especially for those who live in the return areas, for which programs must be implemented reintegration into the formal school system.
- Livelihood: Lack of livelihood opportunities continues to be one of the most pressing problems impacting both on the IDP’s decision to return and on the quality of life of those who have returned. Thousands of returning to the Governorate of Nineveh cannot count on any source of sustenance
Contents of the Initiative
- General objective: To contribute to the adoption of lasting solutions to the problem of displacement internal in the Governorate of Nineveh.
- Specific objective: To improve the access and quality of education and health services and to strengthen the means subsistence of vulnerable communities and return to the Governorate of Nineveh (Districts of Mosul and Sinjar).
Funding Information
- The maximum amount of the AICS loan for the component of the Initiative entrusted is 1,690,000.00 (one million six hundred ninety thousand / 00) euros.
- The disbursement of the loan will take place, according to the methods indicated in the Contract Model in three installments equal to 845,000.00 (eight hundred forty-five thousand / 00) euros in the first year, of 676,000.00 (six hundred and seventy-six thousand / 00) euro in the second year and 169,000.00 (one hundred and sixty-nine thousand / 00) euro upon approval of the final report.
Expected Results
- Improved access and quality of education services for vulnerable communities Governorate of Nineveh.
- Improved access and quality of health services for vulnerable communities in the Governorate of Nineveh.
- The means of subsistence of families linked to small agricultural production strengthened in Governorate of Nineveh
Beneficiaries
Project proposals must aim to reach the following beneficiaries:
- Education sector
- about 3,000 students benefiting from the rehabilitation of school structures, of the new ones supplies and improved overall governance thanks to the specific training provided;
- about 50 teachers and 5 principals benefiting from the technical training addressed to them according to INEE standards with a focus on social inclusion, dialogue, positive discipline and / or on issues of respect education, gender roles and equality, safe management of schools (norms hygiene / health and Covid-19 protocols, SLTS – School-led Total Sanitation), teaching a distance.
- about 100 parents benefiting from the training and support for the PTAs of the institutes
- about 10 facilitators trained to support the work of the PTAs
- about 1,500 people reached by the social inclusion activities coordinated by the PTAs;
- Healthcare sector
- about 160 members of health personnel (doctors, nurses, trainees), beneficiaries of the supply of new medical equipment and sanitary kits;
- about 160 members of health personnel (doctors, nurses, trainees), beneficiaries of the specific training provided, with a focus on sexual and reproductive health and / or maternal health and infantile and Covid-19;
- at least 2,000 patients benefiting from the rehabilitation of health facilities and a system equipped with adequate equipment and adequately trained medical personnel;
- about 3,000 people from the communities benefiting from the awareness-raising activities with a focus on Covid-19 prevention and confidence building towards the health system.
- Livelihoods sector
- about 120 families benefiting from the new equipment and training provided on techniques horticulture, irrigation and sustainable use of water resources (and / or other);
- 10 staff members of the implementing body benefiting from the training provided by UNMAS on mine risk education;
- about 40 female producers benefiting from the training provided on production techniques and conservation of horticultural products, the organization of buying and selling groups;
- about 40 female producers benefiting from the new basic equipment for processing products and start-up activities
Eligibility Criteria
Only those CSOs who, at the date of publication of this Notice, can participate in the selection procedure (alone or as principals or agents of ATS):
- They are registered in the list of civil society organizations and other subjects without the purpose of profit;
- They are not indebted to public administrations for certain, liquid and due debts, including debt situations deriving from provisions for revocation of contributions for projects promoted and / or entrusted and / or for humanitarian aid;
- Are not in a state of bankruptcy, are not subject to insolvency or liquidation proceedings, where the assets are administered by a liquidator or a judge, or where there is an agreement with creditors, or where the assets are suspended, or any other similar situation provided for by national law;
- Are up to date with the payment of taxes or social security and welfare contributions provided for by the national legislation in force or by the legislation in force in the country in which the contract is performed;
- Against whom a definitive sentence or a definitive administrative decision has not been pronounced for serious violations of the legislation or ethical standards of the professional sector to which the Entity belongs, or for unlawful conduct that has affected the professional credibility of the Entity;
