The Centers for Disease Control – CGH has launched a call for proposals for the Soroti Regional Mechanism for Reaching and Sustaining Epidemic Control in the Republic of Uganda under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
This NOFO will support implementation of comprehensive human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and tuberculosis (TB) prevention, care, and treatment programs for epidemic control in Soroti Region.
Activities will include implementation of HIV services including HIV case finding especially among men, young people, and key populations (KP); HIV care and treatment; TB prevention, diagnosis, and treatment; prevention of mother-to-child HIV transmission (PMTCT); management of advanced HIV disease (AHD) and integration of services for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) to increase convenience of receiving HIV services; voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC); HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP); and related laboratory and strategic information (SI) services, including viral load (VL) testing and recency surveillance, through a health systems strengthening approach.
The purpose of this NOFO is to achieve and sustain HIV epidemic control, reduced TB incidence, lower rates of HIV and TB-related mortality and morbidity, as well as increase early detection, prevention, and control of public health threats in all supported districts in the Soroti Region. Additionally, the purpose of the NOFO is to achieve the 95-95-95 UNAIDS targets through improved and resilient healthcare systems and sustained GOU capacity to plan, implement, and monitor high-quality HIV, TB, and other public health threats.
