Research Agency as a Program Operator of the Business Development, Innovation and SMEs programme has launched the Call for Proposals on the Support of Innovation and Business Development financed by the Norway Grants and state budget of the Slovak Republic.
The call aims to support small, medium and large enterprises within two main programme areas: Green Industry Innovation and Welfare Technology and Ambient Assisted Living. Funding will be provided for the projects that contribute to the development and establishment of innovative technologies, processes and products, and bring significant benefits, such as employment growth, reduction of CO2 emissions and waste production, use of new materials, intelligent construction solutions etc.
In the area of welfare technologies establishment of products and services that help elderly and people with disabilities, systems for vital functions monitoring and technologies for medical care suitable for households, intelligent textiles and houses, can be supported etc.
Aims and Activities
- Green Industry Innovation
- Apply, develop and commercialise green technologies, processes and solutions within the enterprise
- Green business operation
- Support of Green Industry Innovation can include areas such as:
- circular economy, green ICT, new innovative products/technologies/services, which will reduce the environmental impact through lower raw material / energy consumption or lower emissions during production, smart society, clean/renewable energy, new smart construction technologies/solutions and innovations.
- Welfare Technology and Ambient Assisted Living Technologies
- Apply, develop and commercialise ambient assisted living/welfare
- technologies, processes and solutions.
- Support of Welfare Technologies and Ambient Assisted Living can be in the areas such as:
- telemedicine, biotechnologies, robotics and automated technologies, development of products and innovations that help people with various disabilities, products for monitoring life functions suitable for households, systems for the medical care of chronically ill persons or people with various disabilities used in households, technologies for smart houses,
- smart textiles or ICT systems, etc.
Focus Areas
- Green Industry Innovation and
- Welfare Technologies and Ambient Assisted Living.
The wide range of needs within these areas is the reason that the Call does not have pre-defined specific project themes. Funding will be provided for projects that contribute to the development and establishment of innovative technologies, processes and products, create synergies and bring various benefits, e.g. employment growth, reduction of CO2 emissions and waste production, use of new materials, intelligent construction solutions, innovations in transport etc.
In the area of welfare technologies establishment of products and services that help people with various disabilities, systems for vital functions monitoring and technologies for medical care suitable for households, intelligent textiles and houses, can be supported.
- The total amount available is approx. 11,6 million euro:
- 7,6 million euro for green industry innovation projects
- 4 million euro for welfare technology and ambient assisted living projects
- Each project between 200,000 and 2,000,000 euro.
Geographical area: All regions of the Slovak Republic are eligible
Outputs
- Output 1.1 Enterprises supported to develop innovative green technologies, processes, solutions, products or services
- Output 1.2 Enterprises supported to green their business operations
- Output 1.3 Enterprises supported to innovate welfare and ambient assisted living technologies, solutions and processes.
- Eligible applicants include:
- SMEs and large enterprises with less than 25% public ownership established as legal persons in Slovakia . The eligible applicants must have been established for at least three fiscal years at the deadline for submission of this call for project proposals.
- Eligible partners:
- Any public or private entity, commercial or non-commercial, as well as nongovernmental organisations, established as a legal person either in Norway or in Slovakia or any international organisation or body or agency thereof, actively involved in, and effectively contributing to the implementation of a project.
