The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has announced an open call for the Post-COVID-19 Employment Recovery for Women and Diverse Populations Latin America and the Caribbean.
This call for proposals focuses on rigorous research studies that use quantitative methods supported by identification strategies, such as reduced observational data models, structural models, and experimental or quasi-experimental evaluations.
Goals
This call seeks to fund rigorous and innovative research proposals on the topics of labor markets and entrepreneurship that:
- document the inequalities faced by women and diverse populations, both before and during the pandemic, or;
- evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and innovative solutions that seek to close the gap of inequality in the context of the pandemic.

- Data and methodology. Does the proposal present a clear research design and methodology? Proposal must include a strong quantitative approach and should contribute in at least one of the following dimensions:
- analysis of new survey or administrative data, and/or;
- implementation of a rigorous empirical strategy to isolate gender and diversity gaps (i.e., reduced observational data models, structural models, and experimental or quasi-experimental evaluations).
