Deadline: 31-May-21
The Minority Rights Group International, an international non-governmental organization has opened Calls for Legal Assistance Proposals to secure rights for ethnic, religious, and linguistic minorities worldwide, and to promote co-operation and co-existence between communities.
MRG is supporting civil society organisations (CSOs) working to promote the rights of ethnic and religious minority groups to carry out legal work that would lead to the amelioration of the situation of religious and ethnic minorities.
MRG is seeking applications for legal assistance for members of minority communities/ indigenous peoples who are facing discrimination or activists/CSOs that are facing legal persecution as a result of their work to promote minority and indigenous peoples’ rights.
The legal cases will support victims of discrimination to access legal remedies for abuses of rights.
They particularly encourage applications that raise issues that are ripe for strategic litigation on the national, regional or the international level in coordination and consultation with members of the community or communities.
