Ecclesiastical is seeking applications for its Community Impact Grant to provide support to registered Canadian Charities.
Grants are made to specific projects that make a positive and sustained impact on the community, by benefiting youth, vulnerable and under-represented people or by supporting their communities’ unique cultural programs.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Community Impact Grant program is national in scope. It is open to registered Canadian charities with a mission that aligns with Ecclesiastical’s values and deep-rooted commitment to “Greater Giving” – helping people in need and making a measurable impact on their communities.
- The applying organization must be a Canadian registered charity as defined by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
- Grant requests must be for the sole purpose of funding a specific Canadian project or program that is sustainable beyond the period covered by the grant.
- The donated funds must be applied in Canada, and the organization must be able to provide a charitable tax receipt for the full amount of the grant.
- There is a rigorous review and assessment process involving their Volunteer Committee which is made up of staff from across the country. Based on their recommendations, successful recipients are then selected by the Community Grant Giving Committee, which consists of select senior Ecclesiastical executives, who work alongside an independent chair, appointed by their charitable trust owner, Benefact Trust.
- Each grant application is assessed against the following success criteria:
- The scale and impact of the program
- The program’s potential for long-term sustainability and success
- The program’s innovation, creativity and inclusion
- The organization’s ability to measure results and provide outcomes
- The program’s cost-effectiveness and long-term financial soundness
- The program ‘s dive rsity and inclusion
