- Shell provides funding for community projects and initiatives that are located near the refineries, operations, and exploration interests throughout Canada through various funding platforms. If you have a request for consideration outside of the priority locations you can still apply but note that the priority funding is to their listed communities.
Eligibility Criteria

Alberta
- Grande Prairie Community Grant Program: Non-profit organizations in Grande Prairie and area including the MD of Greenview, Wembley, Beaverlodge, Sexsmith, Clairmont, Grovedale, and Bezanson.
- Scotford Community Grant Program: Non-profit organizations in northern Strathcona County, Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park, and Bruderheim can apply.

British Columbia
- NEBC Community Grants: Non-profit organizations in Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Fort St. John, Hudson’s Hope, and Tumbler Ridge.

Ontario
- Sarnia Community Grants: Non-profit organizations in Sarnia, Lambton County, St. Clair, Corunna, Mooretown, Walpole Island, Kettle Point, Stoney Point Township, and Brockville.
Ineligible Projects
Shell’s social investment program does not fund the following:
- Individuals or individual pursuits
- Golf tournaments, hockey tournaments, tennis, fishing, or other sporting tournaments
- Sports – professional, recreational or minor sports teams
- For-profit organizations
- Trips, tours, and travel expenses
- Third-party fundraiser or fundraising events
- Conferences, forums, trade shows, conventions, seminars (unless industry-related)
- Religious causes that do not serve the general public on a non-denominational basis
- Advertising, film, video, television, and book productions
- Private foundations
- Fraternal and labor organizations/service clubs
- Private (fee-based) elementary or secondary schools
- Political parties or lobby groups
- Projects where benefits occur outside Canada
