Deadline: Ongoing Opportunity
The Department of Education’s Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Division is accepting funding proposals on an ongoing basis to increase the availability of child care in Nunavut for children ages 0-6.
This program can be used to help:
- Start the process of creating new licensed child care centres.
- Renovate existing centres to increase available spaces.
- Support projects that are already in progress.
Funding Information
- There is over $5.68 million in federal funding to be distributed for early learning and child care infrastructure between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025.
- Funding amounts will vary based on the proposal and will be determined on a case-by-case basis – there is no maximum amount per recipient.
Eligibility Criteria
- Child care centres, family home daycares, DEAs and CSFN, hamlets/municipalities, non-profit societies, and non-governmental organizations.
- Priority will be given to underserved communities with limited or no existing licensed child care centres.
