The Carrick Futures Fund Programme is supported by ScottishPower Renewables community benefit funds for Arecleoch and Mark Hill Windfarms in South Ayrshire.
Purpose
- Carrick Futures can support charitable activities that support the rural regeneration and sustainability of Ballantrae, Colmonell & Lendalfoot, Barr, Barrhill, Pinmore & Pinwherry, Girvan & District and Carrick.
- Awards can support a wide range of costs and activities
- Carrick Futures’ aim is to support and strengthen communities across South Carrick. It supports activities and opportunities that create thriving places where people want to live, work, raise their families and grow old.
Strategic Priorities
- Carrick Futures has six strategic priorities to support this purpose. Funding will be used to support initiatives that:
- Improve access to public services, education and recreation
- Tackle inequality, including poverty and disadvantage
- Support good health and wellbeing
- Provide support and/or opportunities for children and young people
- Support the sustainable development of community led assets
- Foster climate smart approaches that protect and promote the environment
Funding Information
- Two levels of awards are normally available for activities that benefit the local community. The amount and type of information required from applicants differ depending on the size of the application being made:
- Small grants: £500 – £5,000
- Standard grants: £5001 – £50,000.
- Large grants: over £50,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Groups and organisations working to benefit people in any of the eligible communities can apply.
- Management Committee
- There must be a minimum of three unrelated persons on the management committee or Board. This is to ensure that the group has a range of perspectives and experiences and is not dominated by the interests of a single family or similarly connected individuals.
- For the same reasons, the majority of your management committee or Board members must be unrelated.
- Accounts & Financial Procedures
- You must be able to supply your latest set of approved accounts, unless your organisation is less than 18 months old, in which case no accounts are required.
- For all constituted groups these will need to have been approved by your management committee or Board.
- For registered charities, accounts must be prepared and scrutinised in accordance with the requirements of Office Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).
- You must have your own bank account
- The organisation name on your accounts must match the name on the governing document and bank account.
Ineligibility Criteria
- They cannot fund the following:
- Non constituted groups.
- Applications from individuals. However, individuals may be able to apply for funding under any micro-grant scheme associated with a fund, or under some education and training funds.
- General fundraising appeals or activities.
- Trips abroad.
- The repayment of loans or payment of debts.
