The Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) is offering grants to Deliver methane assessments and roadmap for priority mitigation measures in key source sectors.
The aim of this project is to deliver an in-depth methane emission and mitigation assessment and a methane roadmap for priority mitigation measures in key source sectors to Morocco’s Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development (DSD).
Funding Information
Estimated project cost: US$ 50,000 – 75,000.
Minimum Required Outputs
The project should deliver at a minimum:
- A methane roadmap that follows a methodology agreed with the CCAC Secretariat which includes:
- An assessment of the institutional arrangements, policy and regulatory environment, and cost and financing of implementation of identified priority methane mitigation measures based on in depth methane emission and mitigation assessments
- A monitoring and evaluation framework for methane mitigation as a contribution to Morocco’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and implementation plan
Applicants are encouraged to propose additional outputs as needed to ensure the expe cted project or outcomes are achieved.
Expected Outcomes
- Morocco’s government endorses the methane roadmap.
- Morocco’s government has demonstrated increased capacity to:
- assess and model their SLCP emissions, to prioritize and implement SLCP mitigation measures, and to track progress.
- implement i ts NDC SLCP mitigation measures.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for consideration, project proposals must meet the following requirements:
- Are complete and submitted before the deadline
- Are submitted by a non-governmental organization (NGO), intergovernmental organization (IGO), or other not-for-profit entity
- Requested funding falls within the indicated cost range and the project duration is less than 24 months
- Budget criteria are met and spending caps on expenses are respected.
