The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has launched the call for proposals for CSOs Establishing Circular Innovation Clubs in Primary Schools for E-Waste in Sierra Leone.
Objectives
- The selected NGO will design and deploy educational methodologies on e-waste identification and management, the establishment of Circular Innovation (CI) Clubs in primary schools, and the creation of e-waste knowledge hubs, ensuring alignment with UNDP’s broader sustainability and capacity-building goals. The specific activities include the following.
- Develop and Deploy an E-waste Education Methodology – The selected NGO will create a structured curriculum incorporating interactive learning tools, age-appropriate educational materials, and practical demonstrations on e-waste identification, disposal, and management for young learners.
- Establish Circular Innovation Clubs (CI Clubs) in Schools – Establish up to 10 CI Clubs in primary schools to facilitate hands-on activities and environmental awareness programs focused on sustainable e-waste practices.
- Promote Community Awareness & Capacity Building – Through the CI Clubs, engage students in peer learning, awareness campaigns, and knowledge-sharing activities, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility within schools and the broader community.
Duration
- Six months spread over One Year.
Who can apply?
- A locally registered NGO with at least three (3) years of experience in developing and implementing educational methodologies for primary schools, particularly in environmental education, e-waste management, or circular economy, with a proven track record in curriculum development, teacher training, student engagement, community-based education programs, and extracurricular initiatives.
- At least three (3) years of experience in developing and delivering educational content and methodologies for primary schools, with a focus on environmental education, e-waste management, and sustainability practices.
- Strong network and engagement with national and international stakeholders in education, environmental sustainability, and community development, ensuring effective collaboration for the design and implementation of ewaste education programs in primary schools. Proposing robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess the impact of the product or service would be considered an advantage.
- Proposing channels for feedback from both commercial motorbike riders and customers using the proposed product or service to continuously improve and adapt offerings based on their evolving needs would be considered an advantage.
