The Syria Office at the Canadian Embassy to Lebanon is pleased to announce a Call for Proposals to fund small and results-oriented projects which are proposed and implemented by officially registered local NGOs and organizations working on projects supporting Syrians in Syria, Türkiye, Lebanon and Jordan.
Projects must fall within one of the 2025-2026 CFLI themes. Emphasis will be placed on innovative, accountable, and sustainable projects. Initiatives aimed at producing concrete results will be prioritized. Proposals with a communications strategy, including social media and robust advocacy component, will be prioritized.
Thematic Areas
- Gender equality & the empowerment of women and girls;
- Inclusive governance, including democracy, human rights, and the rule of law;
- Peace and Security, with a focus on conflict prevention and building peace;
- Human dignity, covering health, education, and nutrition;
- Growth that works for everyone, including advancing women’s economic rights and leadership, promoting inclusive markets and entrepreneurship, promoting financial security and resilience;
- Environment and climate change focusing on strengthening environmental governance and enhancing women’s participation in decision making, investing in low-carbon and climate-resilient economies, environmental practices that support healthy, adaptive and resilient communities.
Funding Information
- The maximum contribution for 1-year project is CAD $60,000 and a 2-year project in 2025/26 is CAD $100,000.
- Duration: Project activities are to start in August 2025 until February 13, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- Registered local non-governmental, community and not-for-profit organizations.
- The organizations must hold an organizational banking account.
- Local academic institutions working on local projects.
- Projects are located in Syria, Türkiye, Lebanon, or Jordan.
