The Community Foundation for Ireland is seeking applications for its CGN Wind Farm Community Funds to support organisations promoting community development and social inclusion within the local area so that all members are connected, actively achieving and participating in their community.
CGN Community Benefit Fund supports community, voluntary and not-for-profit organisations based in the vicinity of the windfarm.
The Fund seeks applications focusing on initiatives which support community progression and inclusion through:
- Promoting opportunities which encourage participation in community life, building engagement, integration, and social cohesion
- Reaching out to such groups and supporting those groups to build a connectedness within the community
- Activities which build a common sense of community identity and connectedness

Funding Information
- Grants of up to €2,000 are available.
The Fund will not Support
- Applications from individuals
- General appeals
- Applications that promote religious or political activities
- Applications for funding to cover the cost of salaried positions; trips abroad; research; vehicles or other capital equipment (including PC’s and computers); general running costs.
- Retrospective funding (work that is already underway or has taken place)
- Sponsored events
- Sports without an identifiable charitable element
- Animal charities
Criteria
- Applications must be from community and voluntary groups that possess charitable aims and are not for profit
- Applications will only be accepted from organisations that are based within the local area or from organisations which primarily operate within this region
- Only one application per organisation
- Applicants should have an organisational bank account or access to one. All grants will be awarded by bank transfer. The applicant organisation is the organisation to which payment will be made, unless they are advised otherwise
- If your organisation has a credit union account, you must supply an IBAN for your specific account. They are unable to accept applications without a unique account IBAN
- Applicants must supply the following documentation with their application:
- A copy of a recent bank statement (no more than six months old, you can hide any transactional history as it is only the bank and account name they are checking)
- Memorandum and Articles of Association or similar Governing Document
- The organisation’s safeguarding policies for children and vulnerable adults (where the proposed project deals directly with children/young people or vulnerable adults)
