The Community Foundation Ireland is seeking applications for the CGN Wind Farm Community Funds to encourage local initiatives that focus on bolstering community development and inclusivity.
Aims
- The CGN Community Benefit Fund is a beacon of support specifically designed for community, voluntary, and not-for-profit organisations in the vicinity of the windfarm. The mission is to endorse a culture of inclusion and to dismantle the barriers that lead to isolation.
- They aim to unify the community, stimulate active achievement, and foster an environment where every member can participate and thrive. In addition to fostering community development and inclusivity, they also endorse local initiatives that promote environmental sustainability, climate action, and biodiversity preservation.
- They’re actively seeking applications for initiatives that underline the following objectives:
- Amplifying opportunities that inspire engagement in community life, thereby strengthening integration and social unity.
- Extending support to various groups to enhance connectivity within the community, fostering a sense of belonging.
- Championing activities that help cultivate a shared sense of community identity and connectedness.
Priorities
They’re especially looking for initiatives that benefit these groups:
- Environmental initiatives focusing on climate action, biodiversity, and enhancement of the local environment.
- Older adults
- Lone parents
- Heritage and arts enthusiasts
- Children and young people
- People with disabilities
- Members of new communities
- Those in rural isolation
Funding Information
- Grants of up to €2,000 are available.
Eligibility Criteria
- This is open to community or voluntary groups that:
- Have charitable aims and are not-for-profit.
- Have an organisational bank account or access to one.
- Can provide the following:
- A recent bank statement header (no older than six months)
- Your organisation’s constitution/Articles of Association
- A list of current board members / Trustees and their length of service
- If your project involves children or vulnerable adults, you must also have a Safeguarding Policy.
- Applications are welcome from organisations that:
- Are based within the local area.
- Primarily operate within this region.
- Please note that only one application per organisation will be accepted.
- They are looking for applications from the following townlands: Skrine and Roosky in Co. Roscommon, Leabeg in Co. Offaly, Faughery in Co. Leitrim; and Cloghboola in Co. Kerry.
