The City of Fort Lauderdale City Commission is now considering applications for General Fund Agency Grants to be awarded to non-profit agencies that provide services within the City of Fort Lauderdale during the City’s Fiscal Year 2022, which runs from October 1, 2021 – September 30, 2022.
The public purpose of the nonprofit funding is to support programs and initiatives aimed at strengthening the community socially, educationally, and economically in ways that are outside of the City’s current operations. The nonprofit funding allows the Commission to target resources toward key Commission Priorities.
Target Areas
The City of Fort Lauderdale is proud to invest in a variety of nonprofit organizations with a special emphasis on those that work to further the initiatives in the following target areas:
- Social Welfare and Elderly Programs: The programmatic focus will be on the general social welfare initiatives for all neighbors as well as enriching the lives of the elderly in the City of Fort Lauderdale.
- Arts, Culture, and Historical Programs: The programmatic focus will be for artistic, cultural, and historic initiatives that benefit the City of Fort Lauderdale.
- Educational Programs: The programmatic focus will be for supporting educational initiatives and programs within the City of Fort Lauderdale.
Eligibility Criteria
Applications shall be submitted for a one-year grant cycle and are dependent on the following criteria:
- Availability of funds from the City’s General Fund
- Applicant is a non-profit organization with tax-exempt status under section 501(C)(3), 501(C)(4), 501(C)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code, or a College or University
- Applicant programs / projects must align with at least one of the target areas.
