The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Community Foundation (HIWCF) is inviting applications for its Co-op COVID-19 Funding Programme to provide grants of upto £5,000 to local voluntary and community groups that deliver programme which provides emergency food and includes all programmes that address food insecurity and its impacts for those in need.
HIWCF is committed to building funds and distributing grants to support community projects delivered by local voluntary and community groups across Hampshire & Isle of Wight.
Funding Information
- Minimum Grant: £ 1000;
- Maximum Grant: £ 5000.
Criteria
- HIWCF fund Programmes that support one or more of the following:
- Redistribute surplus food to the people who need it most in communities;
- Provide easy access to nutritious food and balanced meals for beneficiaries struggling on a limited budget;
- Help to educate and upskill beneficiaries on how to provide low-cost meal solutions, limiting food waste and shopping smartly;
- Support future generations by prioritising the wellbeing of children and young people struggling with food insecurity;
- Food programmes for vulnerable communities delivered in local communities this includes emergency food and programmes that address food insecurity and its impacts;
- Please explain how applicant project will be affected if their local area moved into a higher government tier.
- Who Can Apply?
- Registered and unregistered Charities including CIOs;
- Voluntary and community groups;
- CIC;
- Churches and other religions (no proselytising).
- Exclusions:
- Organisations not based and active in Hampshire including Portsmouth and Southampton;
- Capital building projects;
- Application from individuals;
- Public bodies: local authorities or schools;
- Organizations’ who’s Objects are for the sole benefit or relief of animals or plants;
- National charities;
- Any party political activity;
- Commercial ventures;
- Proselytising activities, i.e. active promotion of a specific religion or belief system.
- Other Notes:
- Please note if foundation receives a large volume of applications they will prioritise the smaller organisations working on the frontline in communities and those who do not have high reserves.
- You can apply to this programme if you have been supported by the foundation in the last 12 months but this will be taken into consideration.
- Please explain how your project will be affected if your local area moved into a higher government tier.
- Your project should not start before 24th December 2020 and run beyond the 31 July 2021
- If you have not received a grant from the foundation in the last 3 years then they may require a reference.
Before you Start
- Answer all questions on the application form;
- Try and be concise;
- Please ensure you give them a budget breakdown;
- if there are staff costs they will need to know the number of hours worked per week and the number of weeks worked together with the hourly paid.
- For venue hire, they will need to know the number of hours hired per week and the number of weeks hired together with the hourly charge.
