The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Center for Public Health and Environmental Assessment (CPHEA) in coordination with EPA’s Safe and Healthy Communities National Research Program, is requesting applications to supplement exposure measurements in cohorts where biomonitoring is being conducted for per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
- Anticipated Funding Amount: Approximately $500,000 total for all awards
- Potential Funding per Award: Up to a total of $250,000, including direct and indirect costs, with a maximum duration of 3 years
- Estimated Number of Awards: Approximately 2 awards
- Exposure measurement data concordant with biomonitoring data for a targeted set of PFAS chemicals in a study population;
- Evaluated protocols and SOPs for measuring a targeted set of PFAS in the residential environment.
- Improved interpretation of PFAS biomonitoring data; and
- Greater understanding of the important sources and pathways related to personal exposures to PFAS chemicals.
