The First Peoples’ Cultural Council (FPCC) is seeking applications for its Community Art Spaces Grant to help Indigenous arts organizations and collectives to develop community workspaces.
This grant is intended to support the development and enhancement of community arts and culture spaces that nurture the transmission of arts skills and knowledge through all creative expressions. This grant is here to help create space for Indigenous artists to make and practice their art. All spaces must be community focused and available for community use. Examples include:
- Rehearsal space (for creative expressions such as singing, drumming, dance, theater, and others).
- Permanent designated spaces to create art, such as weaving, drawing, painting, and other creative expressions.
To support these spaces, this grant can fund:
- Renovations/improvements to an existing building/structure.
- Building of a new structure.

- Grant amount: up to $75,000
Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the IAP the applicant must:
- Have previous experience or a creative mandate that demonstrates a commitment to their practice.
- Demonstrate the support of recognized Indigenous artists, creatives, cultural, or community leaders.
- Submit only one application per deadline.
- Submit a Final Report for any previous IAP grants (if applicable). You will not be eligible to apply until all active IAP grants are closed.
- Not have the same project funded through the BCAC programs.
