The Employment and Social Development Canada is pleased to launch the National Call for Concepts under the Community Capacity and Innovation stream – Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy, it is a community-based program aimed at preventing and reducing homelessness across Canada.
This program provides funding to urban, Indigenous, rural and remote communities to help them address their local homelessness needs.
Objectives
This funding supports projects that aim to test or develop innovative approaches to:
- Build capacity within the homeless serving sector, or
- Eliminate or prevent homelessness in Canada.
Funding Information
- Organizations can apply for $100,000 up to $600,000 in contribution funding over 3 years.
- The overall funding available for new projects is around $6 million over 3 fiscal years:
- 2021 to 2022;
- 2022 to 2023;
- 2023 to 2024.
Eligibility Criteria
The following organizations and individuals can apply:
- Not-for-profit organizations;
- For-profit organizations;
- Municipalities;
- Indigenous organizations. This may include:
- incorporated for-profit and not for profit Indigenous controlled organizations;
- Indigenous controlled unincorporated associations;
- Indian Act Bands;
- Tribal Councils, and
- Indigenous self-government entities;
- Individuals;
- Public health, research organizations and educational institutions;
- Provincial and territorial governments and their entities, including institutions, agencies and Crown Corporations.
