The Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts is currently accepting applications for the Community Enrichment and Organizational Development grant.
- Community Enrichment
- The Community Enrichment action covers a broad range of activities that enhance the quality of life in communities. They include community development, social services, and arts and cultural initiatives.
- Organizational Development
- Organizational development grants are intended to support a variety of activities that strengthen and improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness, including strategic planning, business planning, fund development planning, marketing planning, feasibility studies, reorganization and streamlining, mergers, financial management planning or systems, and transition or succession planning.
Objectives
- Community Enrichment
- Advance community vitality. Vital communities are characterized by strong, active and inclusive relationships between residents, private sector, public sector and civil society organizations that work to foster individual and collective wellbeing.
- Examples include:
- Promoting community development
- Advancing community diversity/inclusion
- Strengthening arts and cultural assets
- Enhancing supports for vulnerable populations
- Organizational Development
- Strengthen and/or increase the operational and strategic capabilities of local nonprofit organizations.
- Strategic assessment/plan
- Succession planning
- Board development
- Staff development
- Merger or restructuring assessment
- Strengthen and/or increase the operational and strategic capabilities of local nonprofit organizations.
Requirements
The Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts supports programs, projects and initiatives within 33-community region that address the Community Foundation’s goals and action areas, that are executed by a non-profit organization, and align with the applicant’s mission.
Principles
Proposals for competitive grants should address each of the following principles:
- Capacity for impact: Demonstrate capacity and potential for achieving and sustaining long-term impact.
- Plan of action: Include a plan of action with evidence that the plan is likely to achieve its intended outcomes.
- Collaboration: Leverage new and/or existing resources, organizations, relationships, initiatives, and investments to improve the likelihood of significant impact, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Gauging progress: Include measurable objectives and outcomes with a plan to monitor progress.
