The Couch Family Foundation is inviting organizations and programs that serve communities in the Upper Connecticut River Valley region and Martha’s Vineyard.
The Couch Family Foundation seeks to work with strong, stable organizations that respond to the needs of the community. Some of the characteristics they look for include: strong leadership, deep community relationships, comprehensive approaches to addressing need, and partnerships with other agencies and institutions.
Types of Grant
Grant seekers that meet the criteria outlined below may consider applying for project or unrestricted support through one of the following applications:
- Community Grant: The Community Grant Application is the best choice for organizations that are one of the following:
- A first-time applicant to the Foundation
- A returning applicant to the Foundation, but has received less than two consecutive years of funding
- A returning applicant to the Foundation seeking project-specific funding.
- Annual Grant: The Annual Grant Application is open to returning applicants that have received funding from the Foundation for two or more consecutive years and are seeking unrestricted support or event sponsorship.
- Early Childhood Education Grant:
- The Early Childhood Education Grant Application is for providers of early education. First-time and returning applicants may apply.
- The Foundation prioritizes funding proposals from early education and care providers that serve the highest need families and address key gaps in access for infants and toddlers, and for full-day care.
- They also support providers who are committed to quality improvement and who, in the Upper Valley, contribute to the work of the Early Care and Education Association to build a strong network of peer support and peer learning for early educators.
Funding Information
- The Foundation generally awards grants of $10,000 or less to first-time grantees.
Grant Limitations
- The Foundation does not make grants to individuals or religious organizations.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Couch Family Foundation supports organizations that serve communities in the Upper Valley region and Martha’s Vineyard.
- They gladly accept applications from organizations that meet the following criteria:
- Nonprofit Status: 501(c)3 non-profit status or fiscal sponsorship through a 501(c)3 organization
- Geographic Service Area: Organizations that serve the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire (Grafton and Sullivan Counties) and Vermont (Orange and Windsor Counties); and organizations that serve the Island of Martha’s Vineyard
What kind of Project Grants Application they encourage?
They encourage project grants applications that support the following priorities:
- New initiatives or pilot programs;
- Special projects or enhancements of current projects and programs;
- Impact studies or evaluations of current programs; or
- Organizational capacity building.
