The Mecklenburg County Public Health is soliciting mini-grant proposals for innovative COVID-19 outreach that specifically targets vulnerable populations within Mecklenburg County.
Proposals will be evaluated based on impact on vulnerable populations, innovation, applicant organizational capacity, and budget. Mini-grants are CDC federal funds. Due to the federal guidelines, the following expenses are not allowed from the CDC funding source:
- patient care
- food
- incentives.
At the end of the funding period, selected mini-grant recipients must provide a report to Mecklenburg Public Health outlining the implementation of the initiative, how the funds were spent and outcomes associated with the initiative. The final report should not exceed five pages double-spaced.
Funding Information
- Funding requests cannot exceed $9,999.
Target Audiences
- Vulnerable populations include: low-income, racial-ethnic minority, immigrant, refugee, homeless, and other vulnerable populations or targeted geographical locations within Mecklenburg County priority zip codes for low vaccination
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be an organized entity – business or non-profit.
- Organization must be based in Mecklenburg County, NC.
- Organization must be registered, active, and in good standing with the NC Secretary of State.
- Organization cannot be debarred from either state or federal contracting.
- Upon award, organization must complete the Mecklenburg County vendor application process.
