The Wakefield Council is offering Creative Earth Grants for Communities to support community groups across the district to engage with the Festival of the Earth themes and discover how to take positive steps forward for the environment together.
Wakefield Council are now inviting community groups/organisations across the Wakefield district to apply for a grant to help to run their own activities.
Themes
The Council is seeking local community groups across the district to explore these themes creatively:
- Climate Change
- Environment
- Exploring / discovering shared Green Spaces (allotment, community garden, etc)
- Local Impact / Opportunities
Funding Information
- Grants will range from £150 to £500 to support a diverse range of environmentally based projects by supporting a creative response through the engagement of local artists and arts organisations. They may award some proposals up to £1,000 if the application is of merit and justifies the need for the extra support.
Criteria
- The Council anticipates community groups applying to cover the costs to run a family fun day, arts and crafts workshops, a pop-up mini-festival, design of a community garden, or other creative activities to encourage and inspired your communities to explore the theme of the environment.
- All activities should be free to attend / participate.
- Everyone can be creative, and everyone can help to reduce their impact on the planet.
