The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Addis Ababa has opened a call for proposals for small scale development projects to be implemented in Ethiopia, the Comoros and South Sudan in 2025.
Small-scale development projects aim to provide targeted support to local entities for smaller development activities. These activities may include providing equipment or materials, conducting training, supporting local institutions, or contributing to a specific part of a larger project. A key condition for these projects is sustainability, ensuring that the project can continue operating in the future without the need for ongoing financial support.
Funding Information
- The Czech financial contribution for the project is 200,000 CZK – 500,000 CZK (co-financing from other sources is optional but desirable) and the total cost of salary/fee, subsistence allowance, accommodation, travel cost and eventual insurance and vaccination of the experts must not exceed 25 % of the project´s total costs,
- exchange rate for 08/2024 is 1 ETB = 0,22265 CZK
- 200,000 to 500,000 CZK is approximately 7,970 to 19,927 EUR
- The project implementation, including all related billing, must be completed by October 31, 2025.
Criteria
- Implementer of the small-scale project is a local subject with legal personality in the country of the project implementation,
- Implementer must be eligible to sign contract with MFA CZ that establishes jurisdiction of Czech laws and Czech courts,
- It is desirable that the implementer would cooperate with Czech subjects, e.g. would purchase Czech products, use Czech know-how etc.,
- Funds are allocated to non-political and non-governmental group only,
- There is no thematic or geographical limitation to the project proposals, but they should align with the development cooperation priorities of the Czech Republic.
