The Denali Commission is soliciting applications for rural infrastructure projects and workforce/economic development programs.
The Denali Commission (Commission) was established in 1998 as an independent federal agency to promote rural development throughout Alaska. The Commission is funded primarily via federal congressional appropriation and guided by its annual Work Plan. The Commission also receives transfers from the State of Alaska, other federal agencies, and other funders. In addition, the Commission was provided funding in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021 “BIL”).

Eligibility Criteria
Eligible projects must benefit residents of the State of Alaska. Eligible applicants include municipal, borough, state, and tribal governments; Indian Tribes as defined by Title 25 US Code § 5304; regional housing authorities; universities; regional tribal non-profit organizations; and non-profit organizations. Forprofit Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) entities may apply; however, grant income is considered income and, therefore, taxable.
