The Australian Embassy in Peru and Bolivia is accepting proposals for Direct Aid Program (DAP) to support initiatives by non-governmental organizations in Peru and Bolivia that seek to promote inclusive development. It is a competitive funds program intended to support small-scale projects that aim to improve the quality of life of local communities.
The Direct Aid Program (DAP) is a small, competitive competitive funding scheme funded by the Australian Government and managed through the overseas offices of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). and Trade) of Australia.
The program seeks to support projects with a sustainable development approach that complements Australia’s broad assistance program (Australian Aid), which contributes to sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction. DAP projects must promote a distinctive and positive image of Australia.
Focus Areas
- DAP activities should be primarily focused on achieving practical, tangible, and high-impact results. Projects with a focus on the following areas will be favorably considered:
- Inclusive economic growth, promoting access to markets, especially for women.
- Inclusive education (particularly for women and girls; promoting science, technology and innovation).
- Community development.
- Improving the opportunities and protection of groups that have traditionally been marginalized, including women, indigenous people, the LGBTQI+ community and people with disabilities.
Funding Information
- There is no minimum amount that a single DAP project can receive but the maximum amount is AUD 20,000 (Australian dollars) during the development of the entire project. Activities can be implemented over a period of up to one (1) year, but projects with shorter durations are preferred. All projects must be completed by June 30, 2024 or before.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Direct Assistance Program (DAP) is available to community groups, local or international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academic institutions, independent entities or associations.
- They must be legally constituted under a non-profit scheme, and have headquarters or an office in Peru or Bolivia. Projects cannot be presented in a personal capacity. Full applications may only be submitted by organizations whose expressions of interest have been selected.
