Deadline: 28-Apr-22
The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL) announces an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for a program to position women with disabilities in leadership roles within the broader disability and civil society advocacy communities.
DRL’s goal for this project is to increase the participation of women with disabilities in positions of leadership in West Africa in order to effectively advocate for equal treatment under the law and support efforts to discourage discriminatory practices. Proposal submissions must demonstrate inclusion of local women with disabilities and Disabled Persons Organizations (DPOs) in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the program. The program should strive to increase agency and leadership for women with disabilities in advocacy efforts of DPOs and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the region. Projects may be focused on one or more countries in West Africa.
